My Little Wish

Just think of how many, many lives have been spent since the dawn of humanity wondering "What's out there?  What's it all about?  What is the Sun?  What is the Moon?  What are those twinkling things in the nighttime sky?"
Always, always, unanswered.
For 10,000 years, unanswered.

So many wise old men, lying on their deathbeds, knowing that, even after a lifetime of vigorous research and rigorous contemplation, their questions aren't any more answered than the day the questions first came to them, a lifetime ago.
Sad, really.  So many wasted lives.  So much heartache and sorrow.  So much disappointment.
So much bitterness at the end.

So, just once, I'd like to do the following.
I'd like to travel back in time and find the artist who did this painting.  It's titled "The Universe And Man".

As he lay on his deathbed, I'd like to appear from a shining golden cloud and tell him,
You were right!  That's exactly how it is!  I'm an angel of God, and you got it perfectly.  Good work!
And then disappear into the void.
I just think it would be really cool if, at least once, out of all of those millions of unfulfilled lives, one person died happy, his questions answered.
