Too Little, Too Late

If there was a contest for "Biggest Asswipe In The Universe", Cory Doctorow, the originator of Boingboing, would get my vote.
Cory did what I, as a computer person, deem the most reprehensible act imaginable:  He took an 'innocent' field like computers and techie gadgets and politicized it with his foul, filthy liberal stench.
It's bad enough when a techie site like Wired News or C-Net injects their liberal stink into the mix, but at least they're news sites and can get away with (what they'd call) "editorializing".  But Boingboing is ostensibly a 'fun' site, full of cute, interesting, techie-related things.  That Cory Doctorow would pollute this innocent field with his liberal screed earns him, without qualification, the Biggest Asswipe In The Universe award.
But wait, you cry!  Wouldn't politicizing a site with blatant moonbattery effectively cut its readership in half?
Why, yes, it would.  The last time I saw a site stats chart, Boingboing was far, far behind similar sites like Gizmodo that actually have the fortitude to not inject their slimy political agenda into the mix.
Well, apparently the Angry Lefties who run Boingboing have finally, at long last, discovered this.  And what do they do?
Run back-to-back articles pandering to the right-wingers — of course!

2001 profile of "Bill Ayers, unrepentant former Weather Underground revolutionary"

Now that former Weather Undergrounder Bill Ayers is back in the news, this 2001 Slate profile of him is worth reading. He comes off as an extremely unsavory character.

Gun owners are the happiest people in the US

The Wall Street Journal reports that gun-clingers are not, in fact, bitter.
It must have just killed poor Mark to say something bad about a fellow anarchist, but I'm guessing he had orders from Cory.  And such strong language he used!  This Weather Undergrounder wants to commit mass anarchy and he's an unsavory character.  And the same with the (actually positive!) article on gun owners.  Boy, that must have hurt.
But do you know what, boys?
Every time you fool some rookie blogger into thinking you're actually what you say you are — a fun site devoted to techno things — and he links to you, there's going to be someone like me right there in the comments reminding everyone that Boingboing is the site that:
  • Implies that it would like to see all Republican leaders hanged by the neck. (Mark)

  •
  • Claims our boys are "forced" to fight in Iraq, conveniently forgetting that we have a volunteer army. (Mark)

  •
  • Strongly supports illegal activities such as copyright infringement and pirating. (Cory)

  •
  • Views the telecom companies as the bad guys as they do their part to prevent another 9/11 — or much, much worse. (Cory)

  •
  • Claims that the polar bears are dying off in record numbers and we're next. (Xeni)
And that's just what pops into my head at the moment.
So be forewarned, Cory, Mark and Xeni:
You're fooling no one, and people like myself will be here to make sure people stay unfooled.

In case you'd like to foward this page to some blogger who got snookered into linking to these scumbags, here's the trackback:
